The Story
The Budos Band formed on Staten Island, New York in 2005, building an entirely instrumental sound out of Afrobeat, funk and Ethio-jazz influences, released through Daptone Records — the same Brooklyn label behind Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings.
Their self-titled debut (2005), The Budos Band III (2010) and Burnt Offering (2014) built the band's catalog, with the group continuing to record and tour, releasing VII in 2025.
The Budos Band has no dedicated video channel of their own; the videos here are hosted by their label, Daptone Records.
