The Story
Son Lux began as the solo project of composer Ryan Lott in 2008, expanding in 2014 into a trio with guitarist Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang. Their catalog — Lanterns (2013), Bones (2015), Brighter Wounds (2018) and the triple album Tomorrows (2020-2021) — balances raw emotional intimacy against meticulous electronic construction.
The trio scored Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score, with a companion album featuring collaborations with Mitski, David Byrne, Randy Newman and Moses Sumney. They went on to score Marvel's Thunderbolts* (2025).
