The Story

LMC — producers Lee Monteverde, Matt Cadman and Cris Nuttall — built their breakthrough single around an interpolation of Whitney Houston's 'How Will I Know' (1986) and a sample of U2's 'With or Without You' (1987), which is why it's formally credited as 'LMC vs U2,' with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. listed as co-writers. Vocalist Rachel McFarlane performed on the track.

'Take Me to the Clouds Above' reached number one on the UK Official Singles Chart on February 7, 2004, holding the top spot for two weeks and spending 15 weeks on the chart in total, including a January 2005 re-entry. It was released on the label All Around the World.

The trio has continued releasing new singles in the years since, including 'Te Amo' (2019), 'Run to You' featuring Bryan Adams (2024) and 'I Believe In Miracles' with Majestic (2025). LMC has no dedicated video channel of their own; the videos here are hosted by their label All Around The World and distribution partner Vidisco.
