The Story
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard formed in Melbourne in 2010, building a reputation for restless genre-hopping across psych, garage, thrash metal, jazz fusion and microtonal experiments — and for the sheer pace of their output, releasing five studio albums in 2017 alone.
Nonagon Infinity (2016), Flying Microtonal Banana (2017) and Infest the Rats' Nest (2019) each pushed the band into a different sonic direction. They run their own label, Flightless Records, and continue to tour and record prolifically.
In 2019 the band released Mars for the Rich, a free browser-playable video game built to promote Infest the Rats' Nest.
