The Story
Jordan Rakei was born in New Zealand, raised in Brisbane, Australia, and is now based in London. His music moves between neo-soul, jazz and electronic production, built around his falsetto-leaning voice.
Wallflower (2017) was shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize; What We Call Life (2021) and The Loop (2024, his first release on Decca) continued a catalog defined by close collaboration with jazz and soul musicians.
In 2024, Rakei was named the first-ever Artist in Residence at London's Abbey Road Studios.
